Natural Stone Products
Granite
Granite, an extremely durable stone, is both heat and scratch resistant. Although slabs may look similar, each slab has its own unique and characteristic design. Granite does have natural pits and fissures that are part of the stone. The marble institute recommends that granite should be sealed periodically to protect the natural stone.
Clients can choose from a variety of stock colors, as well as pick out their stone at our local distributor, ARC Granite & Marble.
Quartz
Quartz is extremely durable due to its stain, scratch and heat resistant properties. Quartz countertops have a more consistent appearance than granite since each slab of the same color is alike. Quartz is a maintenance-free product and does not require a sealant. Visit these vendors for more information about quartz:
Soapstone
Soapstone, the densest natural stone, is heat and stain resistant. It is nonporous and needs to be treated periodically with a special mineral oil to enhance the natural darkening process all soapstone goes through. Soapstone will not harbor bacteria and is siliceous, meaning it is unaffected and unharmed by acids contained in everyday items like wine, lemons, or vinegar. You won’t need to purchase special cleaners, either. Any household cleaner does the trick!
Marble
Marble is recommended in bathrooms & hearth and surrounds for its natural beauty. Since it is a very pourous material and usually light colored it is more susceptible to staining. Sealing does not make the stone stain-proof, rather it makes the stone more stain resistant.
